Nursery School Improvement Grants
Capacity building of public Nursery Schools: Improving the capacity and educational environment of nursery school's teaching Pokhara's poorest children. SATHI currently support 13 local nursery schools with quality of education improvement grants. SATHI NEPAL provide these grants to augment the quality of education, health, safety and the learning environment of poor, urban nursery schools in Pokhara. In order to do this SATHI NEPAL will turn a classroom that was previously a dirty shell into a wonderful nursery school by painting and decorating the class rooms; as well as kitchen utensils so that children can have nutritious meals; medicines; first aid kits; water filters; educational materials, including wall charts and pictures. SATHI NEPAL makes a three-year commitment to the Nursery schools we help. During the 1st year they get 100% support, in the 2nd year SATHI NEPAL will supply 50-75% of the funding of the nursery school and in the 3rd year we will supply maximum of 30% of the school's funding. We do this so people do not always rely on the generosity of our International sponsors, but rather we teach them how to raise their own funds, and how to take responsibility for the upkeep of their schools in future.
A $1,200 donation will provide a 3 year grant to a local Nursery School benefiting 35 children.
