Educational Sponsorship Program: Creating educational opportunites for all. Sponsorship covers all school-related fees and provides uniforms, shoes, socks, notebooks, pens, educational materials and social support through monthly home and school visits for disadvantaged children living in poverty who would not or could not otherwise attend school.ship covers all school-related fees and provides school materials including pens, exercise books, school uniforms (including shoes, socks, sweaters, coats, casual dress, umbrellas, sandals etc) and school bags filled with text books and social support through monthly home and school visits for disadvantaged children living in poverty who would otherwise not attend school. In addition all children recieve free health care facilites, extra tuition for three months of the year and further tuition classes for those children who struggle. SATHI NEPAL also provides support to the families of our sponsorship candidates including medical support and financial support when necessary. Medical supplies are available in the SATHI NEPAL office for both sponsorship children and their families and all are welcome to medical check ups and medicines free of charge. In addition to free health care facilities at our office, SATHI provides emergency medical support to parents and siblings. For example, the mother of one of our sponsorship children who was diagnosed with cancer received financial support from SATHI to have her womb and uterus removed. As a single mother working as a daily laborer she and her children rely on her daily income for food and shelter. Surgery and hospital expenses are a luxury that SATHI Nepal families often cannot afford. In addition to covering all of Mrs. B.K's medical expenses, SATHI provided the family with support in the form of nutritious food for 6 weeks post surgery so Mrs. B.K could make a full recovery without the burden of feeding her family.
